ADEN Baldwin has become City’s fourth summer recruit on an initial two-year deal.
The 26-year-old centre half arrives at Valley Parade after leaving Notts County at the end of the season.
Baldwin came through the Forest Green academy before joining Bristol City in 2016.
Loan spells followed at Weston-super-Mare, Cheltenham Town and Eastleigh before he spent the 2021/22 season at MK Dons.
He signed for Notts County in 2022 and made 79 appearances – scoring twice in the National League play-off semi-final win over Boreham Wood on the way to promotion in his first season.
Baldwin said: “I have had a few really good conversations with the gaffer, and am buzzing to be here.
“I am a mobile centre-back and I also like to play with the ball at my feet, out from the back.
“I like to play in front of big crowds and lots of fans, so hopefully that allows me to play my best game.
“I missed the opportunity to play here last year, so I’m really looking forward to doing it for this club.
“I am happy to get the deal sorted early on as I can now settle in with the team and get to grips with the environment. Hopefully, the fans can turn out in their numbers, and we can give them a successful season.”
Baldwin is the second defensive capture this week following Callum Johnson and third overall after Neill Byrne's move from Stockport earlier this month.
Ironically, Matty Platt rejected a new deal from City to sign for Notts County.
City boss Graham Alexander said: “I am excited about bringing a player of Aden's talent on board.
“He has excellent defensive attributes and his quality in possession will bring another dimension to our attacking play.
“He is another player with promotion experience. I am delighted he decided to join our quest for success and am sure his teammates and our supporters will appreciate what he will add to our club.”
