CITY are among the early favourites with the bookies to finally win promotion from League Two next season.

The Bantams will embark on their sixth consecutive campaign in the fourth tier.

But the odds makers have taken note of their strong finish last term when Graham Alexander’s side signed off with five straight wins.

They have also added promotion specialist Antoni Sarcevic and Neill Byrne from champions Stockport.

Bet365 have priced City among the top six picks to go up at this very early stage.

If any Bantams fans fancy a flutter right now, they can get odds of 12/1 on winning the League Two title or 11/4 to gain promotion.

Newly-promoted Chesterfield are the 13/2 title favourites to follow Wrexham’s example and back up winning the National League by going straight through the next level.

Paul Cook’s Spireites, who have added striker Paddy Madden from Stockport, are 7/4 for promotion – the same as MK Dons after their play-off semi-final embarrassment at Crawley’s hands.

Beaten Wembley finalists Crewe are not among the leading contenders at 20/1 to finish top and 11/2 for promotion.

Gillingham, Matty Platt’s new club Notts County and City’s 2023 play-off nemesis Carlisle are predicted to be challenging – with relegated Port Vale, Doncaster and Salford also well up in the bookies’ predictions.
