GRAHAM Alexander was delighted with City’s “all-round quality” as they came from behind to beat Salford.
Brad Halliday’s late goal – his second in consecutive games – clinched a third victory in four.
Calum Kavanagh had equalised right on half-time with his fourth goal for the club.
The 2-1 victory at the Peninsula Stadium was only the third time this season that the Bantams have come from behind to win.
“I was devastated for the boys when we went 1-0 down,” said Alexander. “But we’ve talked about how we respond to getting a punch on the nose.
“We were the team in the ascendancy and I thought the response was instant. We went on the front foot again.
“We scored the equaliser and my notes for half-time didn’t change. It was about the quality we had and just having a little tactical tweak on the defensive side to manage their threats.
“We did that second half and just had to keep plugging away. We had numerous chances, in the second half especially, but Brad’s come up with the goods with an unbelievable finish.”
Callum Hendry had fired Salford in front against the run of play but Alexander felt keeper Sam Walker was well protected against the home pressure.
“There were a lot of balls pumped into our box and they’ve got massive threats. But I think we stood up to that really well.
“We’ve done a lot of work because it put us on the back foot in that four-game (losing) period, where we conceded set-pieces and were bullied a little bit.
“We worked on the first contacts, the second phase, staying with your runners and that will to make sure your opponent doesn’t score.
“I think the players have shown that in abundance today and we’ve shown it in the last three games before this.
“We have to tick all the boxes. We have to do the basics well to have our quality win the game.
“There were so many good performances today and nobody could argue the result wasn’t the right one. I just felt it could have been a little bit more comfortable for us.”
