SIMON Weaver insists Harrogate need to be at their best to get back to winning ways against the Bantams.

The Sulphurites are coming off successive goalless away draws at promotion-chasing Wrexham and Barrow.

But while only League Two leaders Mansfield have picked up more points on the road, it’s been a very different story for Harrogate at Wetherby Road.

Weaver’s men are one of just six sides with a worse home record than City and have lost 10 out of 18 at the EnviroVent Stadium – including the last three.

Weaver said: “We need to lift our game at home. We’ve been found wanting when we haven’t focused on doing it from a sound base.

“We’ve been great away from home. The last two points at Barrow and Wrexham and two clean sheets have given us that lift and we need to be equally resilient against Bradford.

“We shouldn’t rip up the game plan just because we’re at home.

“We’ve got to show the same resilience we have done all season away from home, especially when it should be in a good atmosphere.”

Harrogate had a free midweek which allowed Weaver to get to Valley Parade to watch City get beaten by Notts County.

“Bradford have got some good players,” he told the club website. “I went the other night and it’s a difficult pitch for them to bring out the best in themselves.

“But they’ve got some high-quality players. They’ve got a good physicality about them and so they can mix their game up.

“If we’re not on our game, they’ve got the quality and good goal-scorers that can endanger any team.

“I’m looking forward to it. It should be a good occasion and we’ve sold a lot of tickets so apparently it could be one of the record attendances we’ve had at our home venue.

“We’ve always had good games between the two teams.

We drew the first one, they got a late equaliser but it was still a positive away point. Being at home, the emphasis is on us to go one step better.”
