GRAHAM Alexander has had his first meeting with Stefan Rupp.

The City owner was at Valley Parade last weekend and witnessed the 5-1 thrashing by Mansfield.

Rupp was in England to discuss the club’s playing budget for next season – the first time he had met the manager face-to-face.

Alexander said: “We had a good chat for a couple of hours last Friday in the office with Stefan and Ryan (Sparks).

“He just wanted to get my thoughts on what I’ve found at the club and what we think we need to be successful in the future. That’s normal owner/manager chat really.”

Rupp was then targeted by angry fans during City’s heaviest home loss since 2020 as the call grows for him to sell the club.

“It was disappointing for him to be here on such a disappointing day for us, without a shadow of a doubt,” added Alexander. “But I don’t think that’s the real us.

“We’ve gone six wins on the bounce for the first time since the ‘80s, then a period without winning.

“Four weeks ago, I think we were top of the form table and we’ve lost three home games now.

“We’re capable of really good results and really good form – but then we’re also capable of what we’ve done in the last eight days. That’s what we need to eradicate.”
