STEVE Cotterill felt Forest Green “fully deserved” their Valley Parade victory.

The Gloucestershire side’s 2-0 win at City was their fourth in the last seven games – and has lifted them out of the League Two drop zone.

Boss Cotterill said: “It was an unbelievable result and fully deserved as well.

“We were exceptionally organised, especially when it’s tiring and you’re getting worked. I thought the boys were magnificent.

“I’ve been in the game a long time and no matter how hard you work, sometimes it just doesn’t go your way. Thankfully the Gods have smiled down on myself and my team.”

Christian Doidge scored both goals – a first-minute header from the opening corner and a penalty in stoppage time.

“I’m so, so pleased for him,” added Cotterill. “He’s worked his socks off since he’s come in the door.

“Those two goals for him were absolutely brilliant. It showed he was at it from the start and he was at it right at the end.

“In the end we had a couple more chances and could have made it three or four. But that would have been really tough on Bradford.

“I think they are a good team who were on a great run, just as Walsall were on Saturday, so that was an absolutely huge result for us.

“They’re really united in the dressing room and now they know what I’m talking about when I say team spirit. They’re doing the unsavoury jobs for each other.

“We’ve come to a really tough place, (in front of) a big crowd and I thought the referee was excellent as well, which is what you want when you go somewhere like Bradford.”
