CITY dismantled Accrington inside 40 minutes yesterday, as they quickly got back to winning way with a comfortable 3-0 victory in Lancashire.

T&A sports reporter Nathan Atkinson was at the Wham Stadium for a highly-enjoyable afternoon, and he provides his match stats and player ratings.

MAN OF THE MATCH

Several players were superb, with the front three tearing Stanley apart in particular.

Despite not scoring or assisting, Clarke Oduor was a constant threat all afternoon, whether it be tormenting his man on the wing, or darting inside to create space for his fellow attackers.

After a season which has constantly seen him selected in different positions, has he finally found his niche on the right of a front three?

MOMENT OF THE MATCH

Tyreik Wright actually made a bad start, getting rid of the ball in frustration twice and picking up a deserved yellow card after his second mini-tantrum.

But he more than made up for that on 13 minutes, finishing off a brilliant team move to put the Bantams in front.

Jonathan Tomkinson’s pinpoint long pass was brilliantly turned round the corner by a deft flick from Andy Cook and Wright got the wrong side of his man before firing a fierce strike into the bottom corner from the edge of the box, which proved too powerful for the diving Radek Vitek.

MOAN OF THE MATCH

It feels like nit-picking, but City were that good before the break that they looked capable of scoring another three or four goals in the second half.

But while not playing badly, they never quite hit the heights of that first 45 minutes after the interval, with Calum Kavanagh, Lewis Richards and Jamie Walker the only ones to really go close to scoring for the Bantams in front of their own fans.

TACTICS

Richie Smallwood returned from his two-game ban to partner Alex Gilliead in the centre of midfield, replacing Kevin McDonald, while Liam Ridehalgh dropped in at centre-back to replace the concussed Sam Stubbs.

Like McDonald, Calum Kavanagh also dropped to the bench, with wing back Lewis Richards making the starting XI instead.

Clarke Oduor moved from midfield on to the right wing, as a brand new front three of him, Wright and Cook proved to be a potent trio.
