GRAHAM Alexander says lessons should be learned from what went on at Barrow.

City are preparing for their first league game in a fortnight against Notts County this weekend.

But boss Alexander has had a final say on last Saturday’s late postponement.

“As the away team we have no control over that,” he said. “It’s obviously the home club’s pitch and the referee’s decision.

“It won’t be the first time it’s happened to our club or any club and it probably won’t be the last.

“But hopefully lessons can be learned from it in certain areas and with certain people.

“Look at the weather as well. It was a beautiful day and great conditions to play football in.

“It shouldn’t have happened in the way it did, without a shadow of a doubt.”

The return trip to Holker Street has now been rearranged for Tuesday, April 9.

Alexander added: “Nobody wants to go to a place and then have to come back through no fault of our own. It’s not ideal.

“We have to roll with the punches, unfortunately.

“As players and staff, we get well looked after. It’s more the supporters who took the brunt of the postponement because of the financial cost and the time."
