MK Dons are braced to deal with the “Cooky monster” at Valley Parade.

Head coach Mike Williamson is well aware of the danger posed by Andy Cook, who bagged his 14th goal of the season with City’s late winner at Wrexham.

Cook reacted to missing a penalty by snatching the only goal at the Racecourse Ground to mark his 150th appearance for the club.

Dons boss Williamson admits his side must be on their guard to contain City’s number nine this evening.

"Cooky up front is just a monster,” he said. “He will run through brick walls.

“They've got athleticism, a lot of good players and a really strong front three.

“It will be tough, and we'll need to understand what we're up against, what we need to match and focus on how we're doing to hurt them."

Williamson is also conscious that Milton Keynes, who thumped City 4-1 in October, may have to adapt their usual pass-dominated approach on the tricky Valley Parade surface.

"The pitch will play a part and the occasion will play a part as well.

"We played them earlier on when we came in. They're a different animal and prospect compared to when we first played them.”
