Bradford Bulls have confirmed that Myles Lawford will leave the club when his current contract expires on November 30, in order to join their Betfred Championship rivals Wakefield Trinity.
The young half-back made his senior debut against Workington Town in August 2022 and has since made six first-team appearances.
The club had been in discussions with Lawford and his agent for several months, having offered the pocket-sized pivot an extended contract on significantly improved terms.
The 20-year-old has, however, decided on a move to Belle Vue on a three-year deal.
Once it became clear, earlier this month, that Lawford did not wish to extend his Bradford contract, the club entered into discussions with Wakefield to ensure they received the relevant compensation for a homegrown player.
Having done so, Bulls will now reinvest that money into maintaining and strengthening their Elite Academy operation, which costs the club around £140,000 per season to run, with no funding from the RFL.
Bulls have thanked Lawford for all his efforts in the red, amber and black throughout his time at the club and say they sincerely wish him all the very best for the future.
