EMMANUEL Osadebe says Kevin McDonald has the vote of the City dressing room to be the next boss.
Osadebe scored the winner for the second game on the trot to stretch McDonald’s perfect start in caretaker charge.
The club are expected to spend the week drawing up a short-list of potential candidates to replace Mark Hughes in the long term.
But after netting the goal that sank Wimbledon, Osadebe reckons they should look no further than the man currently holding the fort – and says he is speaking for the whole squad.
"I don't know what happens up there but everyone's behind him 100 per cent,” said the midfielder.
“Whether he gets it or not, we know what's demanded of us but we'd love to see him get it.
"He’s different, he's what we would like.
"He's an honest guy, he demands the standards are high and everyone's bought into it. We all have our ideals and they come together with us.
"Kev's young, he has a lot of ideas and as a team we're doing what he's asking, pressing high, creating chances, being exciting, dominating possession - that's something we've done and the results have shown.
"He's been a player (this season) so he knows what everyone's about.”
Osadebe finally broke his City scoring duck with a superb solo effort at Grimsby in the EFL Trophy four days earlier.
He repeated the trick – and made up for a first red card of his career at Blundell Park – by striking just six minutes after coming off the bench on Saturday.
Osadebe added: “I knew I need to use the time I've got because with some of the cup games coming up I'll miss out (through suspension). Whenever I'm given the opportunity, I've got to do what I need to.
"On a personal level it's not exactly the time I would have liked to have here but I'm back fully fit and with the boys. I'm looking forward to getting more time (on the pitch) and showing what I can do.
"It was important for us to get the win first and foremost and to contribute is always a good thing.
"We have an identity and we know exactly what we're doing - high press, win the ball, create chances and score goals.
“I'm glad to be able to play a part in the boys getting three wins out of three, that's great.”
City have moved back into the top half of League Two and sit three points off the play-offs. Osadebe expects to continue moving upwards.
“Now we know what the league asks of us, we don't feel there are teams better than us, which is the right mentality, believing we can win every game.
"If we weren't aiming for winning the league, we wouldn't be here. Bradford's a big club with big players and I think now we've started to show how big we are.
"We know exactly what we want to do, which is move on to the next league.
"I don't think anyone would mind me saying it."
