LEE Greenwood has kept his cards close to his chest when it comes to selection for Bulls’ huge play-off eliminator at Odsal against York on Sunday evening.

He confirmed Billy Jowitt would sit out after failing a HIA during the win over Sheffield last time out, but admitted there were doubts, yet hope, over several other players, thanks to injuries and illness.

Bulls’ interim head coach said: “We’re not 100 per cent on any player.

“We had the awards do planned for tonight (Wednesday) after training but a few lads came back from the Sheffield game not feeling well.

That left us needing to postpone because we didn’t want to risk spreading the illness to the other lads or those in attendance at the do.

“It’s not a huge outbreak but it was enough to make that decision.

“We didn’t want to do it, because it creates a logistical headache, but our main focus this week was always the game against York, and now it definitely is.

“But we’ll have to see if those lads who’ve been affected by illness pull through in time for the game.”

As for those who are injured, Greenwood said: “Billy’s definitely out after his concussion, but we’ll definitely have Jason Baitieri back from his suspension.

“But the people who got knocks at Sheffield are doubtful, as are those who missed out on that game (like George Flanagan and Jayden Myers).

“I’m confident in whoever is in our 17-man squad though, and if we don’t welcome back anyone who missed out against Sheffield and we lose another couple from that game, we still have players who can do the job.

“We’ve had lads who’ve covered and put their hands up before, and I’d expect a couple more to do the same if needed against York.”
