BRADFORD Bulls are guaranteed a play-off spot in the Betfred Championship after York edged out Batley 15-14 in a thriller last night.
After beating London Broncos 12-10 in the capital on Sunday, Bulls knew they would have their place in the top six confirmed if the Bulldogs lost in North Yorkshire.
That did not look likely when Craig Lingard's visitors moved into a 10-0 lead after 20 minutes.
But York roared back with three tries to lead 14-10 at the break.
An unconverted try brought Batley level in the second half, and a point apiece would have left Bulls still needing something from their tricky final day game at Sheffield on Sunday evening.
But Liam Harris' 78th minute drop goal sealed the win for York, meaning Bulls' only worry in South Yorkshire this weekend is where they will finish in the table.
They will now be eyeing up third place to ensure a home play-off at Odsal, which they will achieve if they win against the Eagles.
