A FORMER Bantam is retiring this afternoon, but it will be no gentle farewell for him.
Dave Syers made 55 league appearances for City from 2010 to 2012, and has been a key figure in the midfield of neighbouring Farsley Celtic since 2018.
Having played over 100 games for the club, scoring 18 goals, he plays his last game today, as Farsley travel to Spennymoor Town for the final day of the National League North season.
It is one of several encounters in the division with something on the line for both teams.
Farsley need a point to guarantee survival, while a victory for Spennymoor could see them leap up from 12th into the top seven and end-of-season play-offs.
