MICHAEL Flynn was scratching his head as Walsall again could not beat his old club City.
The Saddlers had the bulk of the play in last night’s goalless tussle at the Bescot.
That followed the Valley Parade game early in the season where Walsall went home empty-handed despite creating most of the chances.
Flynn, whose side have not won in the league since January 1, admitted: “We are knocking on the door.
“We could have easily been sitting here with six or seven wins in this run but we are not.
“The main thing is we are not folding. This was a vast improvement on Saturday.
“We did not look like scoring on Saturday but against Bradford we did.
“We were playing against a team in a rich vein for form but I thought we edged it on the balance of play.”
Flynn has been beset with injuries, including the likes of striker Jamille Matt who signed in January.
And Walsall have now lost experienced midfielder Robbie Willmott, another recruit in the transfer window, for the remainder of the campaign.
Flynn was given the bad news during half-time that Willmott had suffered a full tear in his hamstring during their weekend loss to Barrow.
“We thought it was a grade two, which would have been four to six weeks but it looks like his season is done.
“It is another injury for us. He pulled it going to score a goal, just before he was going to tap it in his hamstring popped. That is the luck we are having at the moment.”
