MARK Hughes felt it was a good point for City from last night's goalless draw at Walsall.
The Bantams were unable to make it four wins in a row at the Bescot Stadium.
They stay fifth in League Two - a point behind Northampton and two off third-placed Stevenage, who have played a game less.
Andy Cook hit the bar but the visitors failed to get an effort on target in a scrappy contest.
Hughes said: “They don’t get beaten very often here and don’t win too many so, before the game, I think everybody was expecting a similar result to how it actually panned out.
“It keeps the momentum going and adds another point to the total.
“I think we got to a stage where I made the decision that it's probably less likely that we're gonna get maximum points.
“We can over-commit at that point. We’re away from home so let’s take what we have.
“Obviously Cooky headed against the bar and we also felt he was impeded and should have had a penalty.
“Their player is in the wrong position. He’s behind him so in that position you can’t afford to touch the striker when he’s bearing down on goal.
“He obviously impeded Cooky but we didn’t get it. It was a difficult one to fathom.”
Hughes was disappointed that City lacked the cutting edge to open a Walsall team that have not won in the league since New Year’s Day. This was their eighth draw in 10 games since.
Jamie Walker had two chances in the first half from the edge of the penalty area but fired both wide.
“We just had a couple of occasions when we made the wrong decisions.
“Jamie will be the first to admit he should have played in Dara (Costelloe) or Richie (Smallwood) to his left for a better opportunity. But he’ll always get his shots off.
"We had a couple of chances to work the keeper but we found that difficult.
“Overall, once you understand that maybe an attacking player wasn't quite going to have the impact on them as I had hoped, then you make sure you don't get beaten.
"We've had a great run up to now and looking back on the season, we'll probaby think this point wasn't a bad one."
The clean sheet was City's fifth in six games as they resisted a barrage of long throw-ins into the box and crosses.
"Every throw-in was like a corner so you're constantly having to bring back Cooky and Dara because they are sending up centre halves.
"Maybe that's one of the reasons we didn't have that constant momentum in our attacking play.
"I was pleased with the defensive work. We were solid once again and that is reassuring."
Hughes named an unchanged team for the fourth consecutive game, although Adam Clayton had to come off with a bang on his knee.
“We changed things at the weekend because a couple of them looked a little bit leggy,” he added.
“But the ones I took off early obviously only played an hour so they were ready to go again.
“I still had the option to change them later on again but I thought they looked strong enough.
“In all honesty, we didn’t really need to make wholesale changes because people were flagging.”
Emmanuel Osadebe was not involved after suffering a knock late on in the Colchester game on Saturday.
“Manny got a bang right on his injury so he was pretty sore Sunday and Monday. There was no point in bringing him, so hopefully it will calm down.
“He’s possibly got a chance for weekend. It’s just very sore as you would imagine.
“But if you get a direct hit on it, then it’s going to be painful.”
