SCOTT Banks reckons City have what it takes to continue their hot form right to the end.

The Bantams made it five wins out of six with the late show against Colchester - and will move level on points with Stevenage in League Two's third automatic promotion spot if they can beat Walsall tomorrow night.

Banks came off the bench to net the second goal as they struck twice in stoppage time to claim a first Valley Parade victory over the U’s since 1981.

And he sees no reason why the present feelgood factor cannot keep rolling on.

“When you’re on a great run, you just want the games to keep coming thick and fast,” said the winger.

“There’s not a better way to cap off the last couple of weeks. We’re on a great run of form and just need to keep building on it.

“To win the game in that manner was special and the dressing room was electric. We carried on the celebrations after the whistle.

“There’s just a great atmosphere in the whole group and I’m pleased to be a part of it.

“There’s no reason we can’t win every game from now until the end of the season.”

Banks made only a third sub appearance since his last start at Leyton Orient at the beginning of December. Having recovered from a calf injury, he has had to bide his time to get back.

“That’s part of football,” he added. “You understand as a player that when the team’s playing well it is hard to get in.

“You’re just waiting for moments like Saturday when you can try and go an impact the game. That’s what I felt I did.

“You’ve got to believe that chances are coming and mine did.

“We’re right up there and as the gaffer said, we’re all going to play a part and we all need to be on it.

“Easty (Ryan East) is in a similar position to me, Manny (Emmanuel Osadebe) has just come back from a leg break and we’re all fighting to get on. When we do, we want to make our impact and I felt we did it.

“All the boys do everything right off the pitch. We’re a great group.

“We have so many capable players to come on and do a job if need be.

“They are all great professionals who look after their body, so everyone is ready.”

Cook finally broke Colchester’s resolve when he headed in Harry Chapman’s corner three minutes into added time. Then he laid on the pass for Banks to net the second.

Banks said: “I can’t think of a player in the league who’s on as good a run of form as him.

“He’s flying and you just want to be out there with him and be able to play off him.

“He’s pulled off really good results for us across the year. I can’t stress that enough.

“He’s a great character to be around and brings a lot to the group and a lot of positivity. We’re all buzzing for him.

“It was such a big crowd and just to get that atmosphere was incredible. It’s a great feeling and one I’ll remember for a long time.

“It’s always coming when you hear the noise building in the place and the fans get behind you and drive the team on.

“We’re fortunate to have a man like Andy Cook who always scores the goals in the big moments. We couldn’t be happier.”
