BULLS head coach Mark Dunning has challenged his side to somehow raise their game even further at Featherstone tonight, as he looks for them to break their TV curse.

Premier Sports, now Viaplay Sports, have broadcast eight Bulls fixtures since the start of 2022, with the Odsal outfit having lost seven of them.

Bradford have largely impressed so far in this season's Betfred Championship, but flopped badly in their only TV game, a 32-16 Monday night defeat at York last month.

They are back on the box tonight, and Dunning said: "History says we don't do well on Monday nights on TV.

"I'd be lying if I said it wasn't tricky for the lads, coming off the back of a day at work.

"But they love the exposure of their game being on television, which is good for the sport too, and we will try and find the best way to beat Featherstone."

Despite Bulls earning a shock win over Toulouse last time out, the visitors will start tonight as underdogs, not that Dunning is daunted by that prospect.

He said: "I think Featherstone are the best side in the league, and we've watched their last three games so we've seen their threats.

"They have a really good squad, one which is littered with ex-NRL and Super League players.

"We know what they're about, but I'm interested mainly in what my boys can do.

"If we got there, front up, and challenge ourselves to do even better than we did against Toulouse, we know we can test Featherstone in certain areas."

Bulls will hope the good feeling around the club is not punctured tonight, with many hailing the win over Toulouse as Bulls' best since they stunned Leeds in the Challenge Cup in 2019.

But Dunning said: "I'd be lying if I said I'd heard too much from the fans after the Toulouse game, even though I have had a couple of nice messages.

"But I had some not very nice ones come my way after the defeat to York, so it's about remaining grounded.

"Anyone can win two on the trot like we have but we'll not be getting ahead of ourselves.

"I'm pleased with how things are going but we can be better.

"There are still a couple of areas we can improve on and strengthen in, and it's important we remain honest with each other.

"We're content with how we've played so far but it's how far I think this team can go which excites me."
