LEVI Sutton has thanked City fans for helping him through the “sticky” times.

The midfielder made a late exit from Valley Parade on deadline day when he joined Harrogate for an undisclosed fee.

Sutton had been Stuart McCall’s first signing during the summer of 2020 when football shut down.

But the former Scunthorpe battler had a tough start with City - having to sit out a four-game ban at the beginning of the season as a punishment hanging over from a red card in his last outing with the Iron.

Then Sutton get sent off again at Barrow at the end of October in only his third full outing.

But he went on to make 96 appearances for the club and scored five goals.

“I’d like to thank everyone at @officialbantams for the last two and a half years,” he said on Twitter this morning. “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time there - it’s full of great people.

“Also to the fans who took me in from day one under sticky circumstances and stuck by me through the highs and lows. Wish you all the very best.”

Sutton, who also had interest from Hartlepool, has signed an 18-month deal with the Sulphurites.

He could make his debut for Simon Weaver's side against third-placed Carlisle on Saturday.
