ROMONEY Crichlow insists City’s January recruits are already “part of the family”.

The mid-season transfer window shuts at 11pm with the Bantams having been among the busiest clubs in League Two.

Whether Mark Hughes decides to try for another late signing before the deadline or keeps his powder dry, he has still been one of the most active in the division.

Only Gillingham and Colchester have brought in more than City’s six new faces during the month.

Adam Clayton, Tolaji Bola and Matt Derbyshire all made their debuts in last week’s draw at Stockport. Dara Costelloe has started the last two games and Thierry Nevers has twice come off the bench.

Early arrival Ciaran Kelly is still waiting for his chance as the Bantams bring him up to speed following his move from Bohemians in the League of Ireland.

It is understood City had a behind-closed-doors game at Valley Parade on Friday but the enforced free weekend has given the new boys longer to familiarise themselves with the squad.

“They’ve slotted in perfectly,” said centre half Crichlow. “They are part of the family now.

“It’s been a real stop-start few weeks with games being postponed and stuff like that.

“It’s been kind of annoying but obviously it’s given us plenty of time to recover and, with the new guys coming in, it gives them that extra time to get used to us.

“The standards are always going to be high but with quality additions, everyone is competing for their spot.

“No one’s relaxed, everyone’s got to play their part. We know we've got a good squad."

City's 12 deals in the window - six in, six out - are more than anyone else in the fourth tier.

Hartlepool, who have also made six signings, and Wimbledon are the closest on 10. Gillingham, who have brought in eight new faces, and Colchester have been involved in nine moves.

Meanwhile, keeper Joe O'Shaughnessy will continue to train with City as a free agent after his Wolves contract was cancelled by mutual consent.
