BRADFORD City Women had another blank Sunday at the weekend, as they missed out on their huge relegation battle against Chorley.

The FA Women's National League Division One North clash was due to be held at Bradford (Park Avenue)'s Horsfall Stadium but was called off due to a frozen pitch.

A win for Charlotte Stuart's Bantams would have seen them move off the foot of the table at the expense of Merseyrail, and put them just two points off safety.

Chorley are the team immediately above the relegation zone, having given themselves some breathing space to the bottom two with an excellent 2-1 win over Middlesbrough earlier this month.

It was a similar scenario in the league above, the FAWNL Northern Premier Division, for Brighouse Town Women.

They are second-bottom, but would have moved out of the relegation zone had they won at home to fellow strugglers Boldmere St Michaels.

Like up the road at Horsfall though, a frozen pitch put paid to any thoughts of that clash going ahead.
