CITY continue to field interest for some of their fringe players with eight days left of the transfer window.

Luke Hendrie, Yann Songo’o, Levi Sutton and Ryan East are all potential targets for other clubs as they struggle for regular first-team minutes at Valley Parade.

“We’re getting tentative enquiries but that’s to be expected,” said Mark Hughes. “There’s nothing really firm at the moment.

“We’ll take a view on each and every one when clubs ask about our players. It’s about making sure we’re stronger before we are weakened.

“We may well bring in more but if I feel we’re well served, we won’t and we’ll allow other players to go out.

“It’s all about making sure we’re stronger at the end of the window.”

Meanwhile, former Bantams striker Caolan Lavery could be facing them next month.

The Canada-born striker is being strongly linked with Doncaster after his short-term contract at Scunthorpe came to an end yesterday.

The 30-year-old, released from Valley Parade at the end of last season, scored nine goals in 20 appearances for the National League’s bottom club.

And that has caught the attention of Doncaster, lining up a potential reunion with City in south Yorkshire on February 25.

There is also thought to be other National League interest in Lavery, who played 20 times for the Bantams with five starts and scored once against Swindon.
