MATTY Foulds has joined Harrogate on loan for the rest of the season.

The left back makes the move across Yorkshire following the arrival of Rotherham's Tolaji Bola at Valley Parade yesterday.

Clayton-born Foulds has been a regular in City's defence since Liam Ridehalgh got injured at the start of September with 21 appearances.

Ridehalgh is now back in full training - clearing the way for Foulds to go out on loan. Bola trained with his new team-mates for the first time today.

Harrogate boss Simon Weaver told the club website: “He is very reliable, has good ability on the ball, is a good size and experience, it was too good an opportunity to turn down so we have tried to move quickly and bring him in.

“I’m sure a player of his pedigree could have had other opportunities, so we’re delighted he has acted decisively, thanks to him and his agent for making it happen so quickly.

“We have played some excellent football at times this season, but our undoing has been the lack of size in the team at times and the over-dependence of one or two at set-plays, we want to have a more balanced and robust look about ourselves moving forward.”
