CITY dug in to earn a goalless draw at Wimbledon yesterday after playing the last half hour down to 10 men.

T&A chief sports writer SIMON PARKER was at Plough Lane and provides the match stats and his player ratings.

MAN OF THE MATCH

Matty Platt did not put a foot - or head - wrong at the heart of a solid defensive resistance. Harry Lewis also pulled off two important saves to keep out Wimbledon.

MOMENT OF THE MATCH

Richie Smallwood so nearly snatched it for City’s 10 men at the death but his fizzing drive was superbly saved.

MOAN OF THE MATCH

Unfortunately, you could see Jamie Walker’s red card coming. He was on thin ice after the first booking and was always one misjudgement away from going off.

TACTICS

Dara Costelloe was handed an instant debut after signing from Burnley the day before.

He came in for Harry Chapman but played as the second striker with Abo Eisa moving into the “number 10” role.

The other change in City’s side saw Jamie Walker handed a first start since the opening day of the season. He replaced Levi Sutton on the right of midfield.
