WIMBLEDON snapped up two new recruits yesterday as Johnnie Jackson reshuffles in the January window.

Having lost three loan players from his plans at the start of the month, Jackson has been forced into a mid-season overhaul.

And that result in a couple of signings from League One being unveiled ahead of City’s visit to south London.

Attacking midfielder Armani Little arrived on loan from Forest Green and Wimbledon also announced Wycombe striker Ali Al-Hamadi on a permanent deal.

The 20-year-old, capped five times by Iraq, has made 13 appearances for the Chairboys this season.

Little scored 15 goals with 10 assists for Torquay in the National League last term before joining Forest Green in the summer.

Jackson has had to react to the loss of loan trio Kyle Hudlin, the giant Huddersfield striker, Paris Maghoma and Ryley Towler, who had all been part of his plans.

Zach Robinson, who was set to spend the full season with Dundee, was recalled as well as Aaron Cosgrave from Southend.

“It’s the nature of where we’re at as a football club,” admitted Jackson, who took over the helm from Hughes’ former assistant Mark Bowen in the summer following their drop to League Two.

A turgid goalless draw at Crewe last week continued Wimbledon’s improving run after a difficult start. They have lost only once in 12 in the league - a New Year’s Day derby setback at Sutton.

Skilful midfielder Ayoub Assal could be back after illness and Jackson will make a late call on him and captain Alex Woodyard, who is set to return to training today following an injury.

City are currently four points ahead of the Dons in the congested table and Jackson is eyeing the chance to narrow that deficit.

“It will be a tough game – they’re a good side,” he told the Wimbledon club website.

“They have got really good players. They have a good squad with lots of strength in depth.

“They can make changes and bring in equally as good players – you saw that in the game up at their place when we really took the game to them.

“We looked like we might get the win, but they made some changes and brought on some really good attacking players and got a point from it.

“We know if we do get the win against them, we close the gap – that’s what we want to do.”
