BULLS will not be facing Workington in the Betfred Championship after the Cumbrians were relegated at the end of last season, but the two clubs are not willing to let each other go that easily.

It was announced last week that a select Bradford side will be travelling up to Derwent Park to face Town on Saturday, February 4, the visiting team to be filled with players who are not selected by Mark Dunning for their league opener against Whitehaven the following day.

That side will be led by reserves head coach Leigh Beattie, and the long-serving Bulls staff member was also at Odsal on Saturday too when Workington visited.

There was no game as such, but the Cumbrians headed down to West Yorkshire to take on Bradford in an opposed training session.

On Twitter, Town posted: "Many thanks to Mark Dunning and everyone there for a great session and excellent hospitality. Much appreciated."
