CITY youngster Jack Wilson’s loan at Brighouse Town has been extended.

It will now see the teenage midfielder stay at the Northern Premier League Division One East club until March 4.

Wilson netted twice in a 3-0 win over Tadcaster Albion on Monday and has scored three goals in three appearances.

“Last season I got quite a few assists and a few goals, but I would like to think I can add more goals to my game,” the 18-year-old told the club website.

“I feel like it is going well. It did not start how I wanted it to and I did not play too much, but I think I was just getting used to how Brighouse play and the different surroundings.

“Recently I feel like I have been playing well, and obviously scored three goals in two games now. I have just got to keep going.

“Playing semi-professional football is a lot more physical, so I have to be smarter with earning fouls and trying to get my body in front of players.

“I have also learnt when I am not in the squad, to not get disheartened and just keep going, not give up and just to stick with it.

“I am always going to be committed, and once you get that chance you just need to take it.”

Wilson signed his first pro one-year deal with City before the start of the season.
