HE has taken a while to find his feet in a City shirt, but Vadaine Oliver has started 2023 with a bang.

With Andy Cook tending to get the nod over him up front, the former Gillingham striker had not started a league game since August until City's 1-0 win over Harrogate last week.

But he impressed Bantams boss Mark Hughes enough in that encounter to get the nod for the New Year's Day clash at home to Salford too.

He played superbly on Monday afternoon, scoring once and forcing an own goal from Theo Vassell, as City won a thriller 3-2.

And after a powerhouse display, Oliver has been rewarded with a spot in League Two's Team of the Week.

The 31-year-old takes his place in a front three, alongside Sutton's Omar Bugiel and Harrogate's Luke Armstrong.

Oliver will be hoping his performance against Salford helps him get the nod for City's next game, which is next Tuesday at home to Rochdale.

The Bantams were due to visit Stockport this Saturday, but County are in FA Cup third round action at home to Walsall.

That means their home game with City has been pushed back to Tuesday, January 24.
