A FORMER Bradford Bulls and Keighley Cougars forward has retired from rugby league.

Prop Ross Peltier, who also played internationally for Jamaica, spent the majority of his career at the two Yorkshire clubs.

He was born in Bradford back in 1992, but his first four seasons were spent at Cougars, who he played for between 2013 and 2016, scoring 10 tries for the club.

He moved to Bradford ahead of the 2017 season, and went on to play 64 times for them, scoring 19 tries and being a key figure in their League 1 promotion-winning side of 2018.

After leaving Bulls at the end of 2019, Peltier joined Doncaster, and then Dewsbury, leaving the latter on loan for a brief spell at Hunslet earlier this year.

In a statement on Twitter, Peltier confirmed he was retiring to focus on spending time with his family.

He went out with one last hurrah though, as Jamaica qualified for this autumn's Rugby League World Cup.

The 30-year-old featured in their opening game against Ireland, but did not face either New Zealand or Lebanon in their final two group games.

Despite battling hard, the Jamaicans came bottom of their group on their debut World Cup appearance.
