CITY booked an FA Youth Cup trip to Chelsea after a thrilling second-round win at Chester.

Ryan Farrell’s youngsters produced another late show to clinch a come-from-behind success on penalties.

After their extra-time victory over Morecambe under-18s, they went the distance again at the Deva Stadium.

Isaac Robinson’s penalty cancelled out Ben Croft’s opener to send the game to extra-time - and when the added 30 minutes failed to find a winner it was down to a spot-kick shoot-out.

Joe Nelson fired over the bar for Chester and City held their nerve, with Jay Nelson slotting home the decisive effort to earn a glamorous third-round clash with Category One side Chelsea.

Chester had taken the lead when Croft found space on the right of the area to bend his shot past keeper Thomas Myles.

But, just as in the opening tie at the Mazuna Stadium, the visitors did not trail for long.

Adam Bott brought down Ali Dalghouse in the box and Robinson slotted home the penalty.

Keke Jeffers saw an effort hooked off the line by Seals defender Joe Nelson in the second half.

But Chester came closest to nicking it in extra-time when Reece Daly’s free-kick smacked the bar.
