MARK Hughes wants to change the post-match script at Valley Parade tomorrow.

City are targeting a first home win in five league games to snatch third spot from Northampton.

Hughes hopes to build on the renewed confidence from their strong away form with a welcome three points in front of another bumper Bantams crowd.

And he doesn’t want to be hearing the same old things from Northampton boss Jon Brady after the final whistle.

Hughes said: “We’ve talked about the home form. We’ve got to get into a run of form that enables us to take games away from teams at Valley Parade.

“Teams do come here and view it as a huge game, one they look forward to and raise their levels.

“I’m sick of hearing opposition managers saying that’s the best their team has played all year.

“It’s up to us to make sure we disappoint them and don’t give them any encouragement.

“As long as we do that and are really strong in key moments of the game, there is only a certain amount of confidence on a football field.

“You’ve got to make sure to drain the confidence from the opposition and build your own levels.”

City are predicting a gate of over 18,000 for the third time this season as they eye a first home win since the Stevenage game.

Hughes added: “Confidence is as high as it possibly could be after two great results away from home.

“We’re playing a good team that will test us but I sense we are ready for it.

“It will be a great crowd again with huge numbers, probably over 18,000. That’s fantastic at this level.

“We’re going to enjoy it and embrace the expectations that our crowd have and we place upon ourselves.”
