FOREST Green attacker Jake Young is being strongly tipped to be on his way to City.
The 20-year-old, who scored at Valley Parade last season, is from West Yorkshire.
Born in Huddersfield, Young began his career with Guiseley before joining Sheffield United in 2019.
But he left the Blades without playing a senior game to join Forest Green, where Young has scored 12 goals in 62 appearances in all competitions.
Young played second fiddle behind prolific front duo Matty Stevens and Jamille Matt as the Gloucestershire side clinched the League Two title.
But he did come off the bench at half-time in Forest Green’s trip to City in October and netted their equaliser.
Young was released at the end of the season and reports suggest he is coming back north to join Mark Hughes’ squad.
