SALFORD have this afternoon sacked former City boss Gary Bowyer.
A club statement confirmed that a meeting was held earlier today when the decision was made to remove Bowyer and assistant Billy Barr.
It said: “The club would like to thank Gary and Billy for their hard work over the last season and we wish them all the best for their future roles within football.
“An announcement regarding the role of first team manager will be made in due course.”
Bowyer was appointed in March 2021 by the ambitious Ammies but twice missed out on the play-offs.
Salford were beaten 2-1 by City on his most recent return to Valley Parade in January after playing over half the game with 10 men.
