ONE man who ought to have their head held high after Bradford's disappointing 23-22 defeat at home to Barrow Raiders on Sunday, is Elliot Hall.
The fullback only arrived at the Bulls in the summer after completing a two-year transfer from local rivals, Batley Bulldogs.
An injury setback in pre-season had delayed Hall's inclusion into the squad, but he is now up and running and played a huge role in igniting a temporary comeback for Bradford on Sunday, with his energy and drive causing the visitors all kinds of problems. He even chipped in with his first try for the Odsal side.
Reflecting on his team's and his own performance after the match had finished, Hall said: "It was a tough one to take because this was a game we were targeting, and we knew a victory would put us in a good position in the league.
"We prepped really well in the lead up to it but unfortunately a few lapses of concentration cost us, which resulted in several silly errors.
"In the first 20 minutes they were under the pump, but we just couldn't finish our chances. We definitely should have come away with some more points in that period. The momentum then changed and they came back into it. We bounced back ourselves but we needed to show more consistency in being able to perform for the full 80 minutes."
Hall added: "On a personal note, I've just been waiting for the opportunity to step in and show what I can do.
"I've had a slow start to my time at Bradford, with the injury I suffered in pre-season playing a big part in that. I think my time at Batley last year and the role that I played- coming off the bench quite a bit, it taught me to take opportunities when they come, bring lots of energy then hopefully I can make a telling contribution to the team.
"That's what I'll always try to do, whether I'm on the bench or in the starting line-up. I feel I'll get better with the more games I play, but I was absolutely delighted to get my first try for Bradford.
"Hopefully it can give me a bit of momentum for the rest of the season."
