DEREK Adams has rubbished a recent online article which claimed to list the City wages.
The Bantams boss hit out at the piece, which he described as “so untrue”, and said fans – and agents – could be taken in by the inflated numbers.
“There was an article a couple of weeks ago about the players’ wages,” said Adams. “I’ve never seen something as ridiculous in all my life.
“If any of my players were to be on that kind of money or half of that, it wouldn’t be right.
“People get paid to put articles on that generate hits. I get that.
“But I wasn’t too happy with the one about players’ wages because what happens is you get people in the squad who look at that and wonder if he is really on that (amount of money).
“I can categorically say that none of these players are on that value of money. I’ve never had a player in my career on that kind of amount.
“Agents get influenced by that, they look at it. Supporters do as well, they look at that and think these players are on these sorts of deals.
“It’s so untrue, it’s beyond belief but how they print it is another thing. There is no truth in any of these matters.
“I think sometimes, people try and affect the football club by putting in these kind of stories. What I’ll tell our supporters is there’s no truth in that article.”
City, meanwhile, are weighing up whether Abo Eisa will require a hamstring operation – which would rule him out long term.
Adams confirmed this afternoon that Caolan Lavery is the nearest of the injured players to a return but none will be ready for Wednesday’s home game against Colchester.
