THE release of the latest FIFA video game is now just a week away, and as excitement builds EA Sports has revealed player ratings for FIFA 22.

Bantams fans can take charge of Bradford City and lead their team to promotion in Career Mode, or play as themselves and take to the field at Valley Parade in the claret and amber, as well as using the City side in head to head matches.

But who are Bradford City’s best players according to this year’s iteration of FIFA, the world’s most popular video game? Which have the best potential? How does the team rank in League Two? And how do Bradford-born players fare in this year’s ratings?

City are the second highest rated team in League Two this season with a 1.5 star rating, second behind Bristol Rovers and ahead of Salford City, Northampton Town, Colchester United and Tranmere Rovers.

City’s attack is rated 65, midfield 63 and defence 62, for an overall score of 63. The Bantams’ attack is the highest rated in the division.

The top-rated players at Bradford City are striker Andy Cook and holding midfielder Dyego Sousa Songo’o, both rated 65. However due to their ages they don’t have the potential to get any better according to the game.

Rated 64 are midfielder Elliot Watt, winger Alex Gilliead, attacking midfielder Callum Cooke and winger/striker Abo Eisa.

The players with the most potential are Reece Staunton, who can improve from 59 to 77 (+18), Charlie Wood and Jorge Sikora can both improve by +14 from 54 to 68, both Finn Cousin-Dawson and Kian Scales can improve to 71 from 58 (+13), and Elliot Watt can go from 64 to 74 (+10).

The Bradford district has a number of high profile players plying their trade in the professional leagues, including a number of Premier League players.

Premier League Watford’s Tom Cleverley was brought up in Bradford and started his career at the Bantams. He is rated 74 in this year’s game. Bradford-born Fabian Delph is at Everton and he is rated 75 in FIFA 22. Neither player have any improvement in them according to the game.

Bradford’s Mason Greenwood, who is rising star at Manchester United, is rated 78 in the game and has the potential to improve to an 89 rating, and is valued at £26 million.

Glasgow Rangers’ defender James Tavernier was born in Bradford and he is rated 77, with no potential to improve according to the game.

Over at nearby rivals Leeds United, winger Raphinha is the top rated player at 82, followed by England international midfielder Kalvin Phillips who is rated 81, and striker Rodrigo Moreno with a 79 rating.

At Huddersfield Town, three players are joint highest rated with a 71 rating; left-back Harry Toffolo, midfielder Jonathan Hogg, and right-back Pipa.
