City have not made a move for Torquay midfielder Ben Whitfield, despite reports claiming otherwise
BEN Whitfield is NOT on City’s radar as Derek Adams continues to swell his squad.
Alex Gilliead’s return to Valley Parade yesterday made it six signings since the new boss took charge at the start of the month.
There are likely to be more this week - with long-term target Yann Songo’o tipped to be unveiled.
But local lad Whitfield will not be one of the new faces.
Reports had claimed the Torquay attacking midfielder was being lined up for a return to his hometown club where he spent 10 years in the academy.
But contrary to the rumours, the T&A understands that no approach has been made by City for the Bingley-born 25-year-old - nor is it expected to happen.
