Mick Potter is expecting a backlash from Hull FC when the Bulls face Peter Gentle’s side in their next outing.

Sunday’s emphatic win at Huddersfield lifted Bradford into eighth spot and victory in their remaining two games would book a play-off place for the first time in four years.

Yet Potter is wary of the threat posed by Hull and Catalan Dragons.

The final home game of the regular season against Hull – heavily beaten at Widnes on Saturday – has been brought forward to Saturday, September 1 for live coverage on Sky.

The match will kick off at 7pm and Potter said: “Hull got stung at Widnes on Saturday and they will be doing everything possible to get back on the horse when they come to Odsal .

“It looks like it will be a really good game in a fortnight’s time.

“I know how tough it’s going to be against Hull and then Catalan but our guys are in form.

“If your hooker, your halves and your full back are working well together then you have a big chance. I’m happy with the way things are going at the moment.”

Due to having no game until the visit of Hull, Potter said the Bulls’ training schedule would be less intense than usual this week.

Potter said: “We’ve got some training planned but it’s not high-intensity.

“It’s more about maintaining the players’ strength at this stage of the year.

“There will be some people who need to do some extras but it’s pretty low-key.”

Meanwhile, John Bateman will undergo a scan this week after sustaining a shoulder injury in Sunday's win.
