Mick Potter says the Bulls must concentrate only on themselves and not worry about their play-off rivals heading into tomorrow’s clash at Huddersfield.

The battle to claim the final play-off spot is shaping up as a three-way fight between Hull KR, Bradford and Wakefield.

A single point currently separates the three clubs, with eighth-placed Rovers and the Wildcats facing each tomorrow in a key clash at Craven Park.

Yet Potter insists the Bulls simply need to focus on collecting two points from their own game tomorrow above all else.

He said: “It makes for a tense finish for the teams involved and for the fans who follow them.

“We know it’s going to be hard to get into the eight.

“I’m sure Hull KR aren’t resting on their laurels that they’ve got eighth place sewn up.

“Wakefield are snapping away at our heels to jump over us but all we can do is worry about Huddersfield this weekend.

“We just need to try and get the two points and then move on from there.

“You don’t want to worry about other people’s results but there’s certainly a possibility that if we don’t this weekend then it could be all over.

“Then again, it might not be. We will just try and account for Huddersfield first.

“We can’t worry about other teams, we just need to focus on ourselves.”

Potter welcomes John Bateman back into his squad this weekend in a major boost to the Bulls.

Bateman, 18, skippered the England Academy side during their tour to Australia, and Potter said: “By all accounts John has had a reasonable time.

“They’ve had some good games and enjoyed themselves, but I’ll sit down with him and have a proper chat with him about it some time soon.”
