Mick Potter is ready to see the job through with the Bulls after watching them claim a precious 32-26 victory over play-off rivals Hull KR last night.

Potter, who has been working unpaid for the last month, had threatened to quit this weekend unless he received assurances over his future but he now looks certain to see out the season.

He admitted it would be hard to walk away with a top-eight spot – a potentially monumental achievement – within reach of his side.

Administrator Brendan Guilfoyle will assess up to five bids for the club over the weekend after yesterday’s deadline passed.

Potter said: “It’s groundhog day. There was supposed to be a resolution. The cut-off point was yesterday. They are now going to assess the bids.

“A few people have put their cards on the table and I don’t think it will be too much longer before we get a decision.

“I don’t want to (walk away) but I’m under pressure to make a decision. I want to see it through regardless of my personal situation. I’m making that sacrifice to see it out.”

Jamie Langley scored two tries, doubling his tally for the season, and winger Jason Crookes – whose hat-trick helped Bradford to a 36-24 win at Hull KR in March – marked his comeback from a four-month lay-off with a dislocated shoulder with a crucial second-half score.

Potter was full of praise for Langley but admits his side will need to improve if they are to overhaul Hull KR and secure a first play-off spot in four years.

He said: “I thought Jamie’s contribution was enormous. It was a fitting reward that he scored two tries – and they weren’t walkover tries. He was outstanding.

“I’m happy to get the two points but I know we’ve got a lot more work to do. We’ll just keep chipping away, one at a time.”

* A strong Bulls Under-20s side claimed their second successive win last night, beating Hull KR 30-20.
