In the build-up to last weekend’s visit of Widnes, the Bulls squad spoke of the potential achievement that could lay in store in the coming weeks.

Not for the first time this season, they talked of overcoming adversity, of fighting for each other and for their club.

Victory tonight would take Mick Potter’s men ever closer towards achieving their aim of reaching the play-offs for the first time in four years.

“We spoke last week about what a great achievement it would be after all the adversity we’ve had,” said scrum half Luke Gale.

“We’re just going to take every game as it comes and keep on giving 100 per cent. Let’s see if we can get into the eight.

“If we do, it would be some achievement in the face of all this confusion and adversity and losing six points.”

Uncertainty still drips from every corner of Odsal as the saga surrounding the ownership of the Bulls rumbles on.

Nobody can say what competition the club will be competing in next season, but what cannot be denied is the fact that the majority of the current Bulls squad are Super League players.

If the club are relegated to the Championship, they will look for contracts elsewhere in the top flight, if they are not already doing so.

Significantly, whoever takes over the club will be liable to pay players under contract beyond the end of the season, even if the Bulls find themselves out of Super League.

Gale, who has proved his class at Harlequins and now at Bradford, cannot even contemplate life outside of Super League.

He added: “I’m sure my agent could get me something lined up but I play for Bradford and I want it to stay that way.

“If we go into the Championship it will be a sad situation for everyone.

“It’s a tough one isn’t it? A lot of the players here are Super League players, so we’re just hoping and praying for the best really.

“We’ve just got to keep on working hard and seeing where we go.

“Making the play-offs would certainly be a great achievement after everything that has happened.”

For now, Gale’s focus is solely on tonight’s visit of Hull KR, where victory would lift the Bulls level on points with Craig Sandercock’s men.

Last weekend’s win at home to Widnes, coupled with Rovers’ defeat to Leeds, has set up tonight’s clash perfectly.

Gale added “We weren’t at our best last week and were poor in patches but it was a vital win and we need to get a few more wins in the remaining games.

“It’s been a short turnaround this week heading into the Hull KR game but the lads are raring to go and we know what’s at stake.”
