Bulls chairman Peter Hood has backed Karl Pryce to repay the club’s faith in him following his return to Odsal.
The T&A revealed last week that Bradford-born Pryce had been awarded a one-year deal following his departure from Wigan.
By his own admission, Pryce is facing a pivotal year as he bids to kickstart a career which has stalled in recent seasons.
Pryce, 25, spent last season on loan at Harlequins and, when his contract at Wigan expired, he was left facing an uncertain future until Bradford handed him a lifeline.
Hood said: “I think Karl has got a point to prove to the rugby league community.
“He’s in his mid-twenties now and he really needs to make a mark.
“He’s now going to have the opportunity to do that at Bradford. It’s an opportunity which he will either grasp or not, and hopefully he will.”
Pryce scored a hat-trick for the Londoners against the Bulls at Odsal last season and another two in the return game at the Stoop.
Hood added: “I remember well those two tries he scored against us in London.
“One thing that was very noticeable at the Stoop was the fact that Karl scored his tries against Bradford but he didn’t celebrate them.
“They were well-executed tries but, while his team-mates celebrated, Karl didn’t. That said everything.”
Pryce scored an impressive 34 tries in just over 50 games during his first spell with the Bulls.
He spoke last week of his delight at being back at Odsal, where his elder brother Leon became a cult figure before joining St Helens in 2006.
“The Pryce family are a Bradford family and they are close to this club,” said Hood.
“We follow Leon’s progress with great interest and Karl listens to Leon’s advice, I’m sure, about how to progress his career.
“No doubt he sought his big brother’s advice about coming back to his hometown club.”
The Pryce brothers are set to face each other on the opening day of the season when Catalan Dragons – who Leon has joined on a three-year deal – visit Odsal on Sunday, February 5.
