Bulls chairman Peter Hood has reassured supporters that efforts to strengthen Mick Potter’s squad are continuing behind the scenes.
Bradford have so far secured the signatures of Luke Gale, Jarrod Sammut, Keith Lulia and Adrian Purtell ahead of the 2012 campaign.
But more new recruits are expected following the recent departure of skipper Andy Lynch to Hull FC and the shock sacking of wing Gareth Raynor.
Bulls supremo Hood said: “There is always a lot of activity at this time of year with players’ agents and so opportunities are put to clubs on an almost daily basis.
“But Mick Potter has his priorities and his standards and he knows the kind of quality that he’s looking for.
“It’s a question of pursuing such opportunities as they arise but we don’t need to rush into anything and we’ve already signed four very good players for next year.”
The Bulls are expected to sign a new prop and wing to replace Lynch and Raynor but Hood insists the search for new talent is not confined to specific positions.
He added: “There are conversations ongoing as we look to make the squad stronger by bringing more new players in.
“That could be a prop forward or an outside back, or it could be a player that is particularly versatile.
“Quality is the key and there are no parameters.
“We’d need to say, whoever the player was, ‘Is he a player who’s going to strengthen the squad?’
“It’s all about the different pieces of the jigsaw being in place because signing one player may have a knock-on effect in terms of the fit for the rest of the squad.
“It’s about getting the balance right.”
Hood, meanwhile, believes Potter will benefit from speaking to various coaches in Australia during his off-season break Down Under.
Hood added: “It’s a fairly small world in rugby league and Mick is a highly respected and popular coach both here and in Australia.
“I’m sure he will be looking to pick up bits of intelligence and best practice from his contemporaries in Australia as he strives to improve Bradford Bulls ahead of next season.”
