Kyle Briggs is determined to make the most of his second chance.
Back in the side after an extended spell on the sidelines, the 23-year-old believes he can play a key role in the Bulls’ revival.
A winter signing from Featherstone, Briggs has found the step up to Super League tough, his transition only hampered by an early-season knee injury.
But having featured in just two of the opening 13 games, the stand-off has now started three in a row and forged a promising partnership with recent arrival Ben Jeffries in the narrow defeat to Wigan.
“I just don’t want to give anyone an excuse to drop me,” said Briggs ahead of tomorrow’s home clash with Salford.
“So if I can keep my confidence up and me and BJ have a good partnership, we’ll go all right. The more game-time we get together, the more we’ll improve.
“It’s been what I expected. It’s a lot faster and more physical. Mainly it’s the speed of the game. You don’t have as much time to think, so your speed of thought has to be a lot quicker.
“I just needed Mick to give me another chance after my injury. I needed a few weeks to have a good crack at it and build my own confidence because it was low for a while.”
