Bulls boss Mick Potter insists his team can restore a winning culture at Odsal.

Even if results suggest otherwise, the Bradford boss has observed a change in the mindset of his players.

Monday’s 8-8 draw against Catalan provided the first piece of evidence, a new-found mental toughness key in ending the Dragons’ four-game winning streak.

But it was still only a building block and Potter wants to see true grit from his depleted team against championship contenders Warrington tomorrow.

He said: “What I’m trying to build is a winning culture. We want to score as many wins as possible while building something for the future.

“I would like to be further up the ladder, as everyone does. We’ve recruited some solid players this year and we need to take one step further in the long term.

“We’ve had problems with injuries but that’s something you have to deal with and I think the players that are coming in are doing a good job.

“Whether you’ve got your best players available or not, you want to see grit and determination. Adversity often brings out the best in people and that’s starting to come out now.

“Their will to do better and to improve with every match is second to none and I feel the crowd appreciate that. They want to see the players give their all.

“Everyone wants to win but the first key to winning things is to put in your best every week.”

The draw in Perpignan left the Bulls tenth on the Super League ladder, yet only a point off the play-off places.

More importantly, it ended a run of three straight defeats and the performance addressed several niggling defensive issues.
