Kyle Briggs is in line for a return to first-team action in Saturday’s trip to Salford after making a full recovery from a knee injury.
The former Featherstone ace has not featured in Super League since making his debut in the season opener against Leeds but was given a run-out with the under-20s last week.
Briggs suffered ligament damage in the defeat to the Rhinos and has struggled to break back into the team since but could come in at stand-off against the City Reds.
Gareth Raynor (hamstring) and Olivier Elima (ankle) both have a chance of returning but Patrick Ah Van is a doubt.
Jamie Langley is due to see a specialist tomorrow for further answers on a persistent shoulder problem, while Michael Platt (hernia), Nick Scruton (wrist) and Danny Addy (broken thumb) remain sidelined.
Dave Halley edged closer to a comeback when he featured alongside Briggs in the under-20s' defeat at Hull FC. The winger has been out since suffering cruciate ligament damage in the Carnegie Floodlit Nines last August.
Assistant coach Francis Cummins said: “Briggsy will be in the squad and we'll just have to see how a few things pan out.
"There are a few bumps and bruises, which we’ll assess on the last run on Friday but we’re probably looking better than we have in the last few weeks.
"Paddy Ah Van's touch and go. He's taken a bang on his knee and although he's trained we're not sure on him.
"We won't have too many people back but will we field the same 13 as last week? Probably not.
"We probably won't be able to do that for the next three or four games."
