Jamie Langley has proved his loyalty to the Bulls after signing a new three-year deal to stay at Odsal.
The highly-rated back-rower ignored interest from a host of Super League rivals to commit to the club until the end of 2013.
Leeds, Huddersfield and Warrington were all thought to be interested in the England international, who was due to come off contract at the end of the campaign.
But chairman Peter Hood never doubted Langley’s commitment and sees him as an important cornerstone for on-pitch rebuilding efforts.
Hood said: “I was never in any doubt. Jamie has always been committed to Bradford since he signed his first contract with the club over a decade ago.
“That’s testament to him. He has hugely enjoyed his time here and has given a great deal to the club in return. Now he can look forward with confidence to the next three years and maybe even past that.
“I can’t imagine any top side not being able to find space for him in their pack. He’s a player of great quality and his work ethic is immense. It’s not unusual to see him make 40 tackles in a game without missing one.”
Langley is currently celebrating his testimonial year after joining Bradford as a teen in 1999.
A member of the Super League Grand Final-winning side in 2005, he has been one of the club’s most consistent performers in recent years, despite being hampered by a string of injuries.
Having started his career at loose forward, Langley has spent much of this season in the second row, where his defensive strength and ball-carrying ability have come to the fore.
But Hood hinted the former Normanton Knights amateur could see his role change under incoming coach Mick Potter next season.
“If you have got an experienced and effective pack with players fulfilling specific roles, it changes the dynamic,” said Hood.
“Jamie is the type of player who can be dynamic offensively as well as putting in the work defensively, so we may see his other skills come to the fore.
“His signing is another important part in building the picture for next year.”
