Bradford slumped to their worst losing run since the club's reformation in 1964 after suffering a 49-24 defeat at Hull KR.
It was the confidence-shot side's tenth straight reversal - ninth in Super League - and leaves any hopes of a play-off bid virtually in tatters.
Another poor start had the Bulls firmly on the back foot within the opening quarter, Peter Fox, Sam Latus and Clint Newton all scoring as the hosts quickly moved the ball wide time and again.
Stuart Reardon responded, finishing a move that included some neat handling from Chris Nero and Elliott Whitehead, but Newton scored his second to make it 20-4.
With half-time approaching, Vinny Finigan grabbed his third try in two first-team games thanks to a clever long pass from Dave Halley but Steve Menzies bombed a significant opportunity to score back-to-back tries.
That proved costly as Hull KR struck three times in 15 minutes after the break, Newton claiming a second before Peter Fox and Shaun Briscoe both added to the lead.
Craig Kopczak provided a response and Heath L'Estrange pulled another back following a bizarre sequence of play when neither team seemed to want the ball.
But slack defence allowed Peter Fox to score from 80 metres, breaking up a strong Bradford sequence, before Finigan touched down his second.
It was game over when Dobson slotted a drop goal with eight minutes remaining, Briscoe adding a late try for good effect.
