Bradford are believed to be keen on signing Wigan prop Iafeta Paleaaesina, who is out of contract at the end of the current season.
The 28-year-old Kiwi is the kind of impact front-rower the Bulls have lacked this year and crucially would not count towards the overseas quota in 2011.
It is believed any deal would be dependent on Paleaaesina accepting reduced terms, having arrived at Wigan in 2006 as a high-profile Test star.
His arrival could jeopardise the future of injured prop Danny Sculthorpe, who recently suffered another setback in his recovery from a back injury and serious bone infection.
If Sculthorpe remains sidelined long-term, the Bulls could be forced to explore their options with the 30-year-old.
