After 60 years away, former Bradford Northern forward Bryn Hopkins is set to celebrate his 80th birthday with a long overdue trip to Odsal.
Bryn played for Bradford Northern for three seasons from 1956 to 1959, making 34 appearances and scoring five tries. He had previously played for Cardiff and Halifax and was part of the Thrum Hallers’ Yorkshire Cup-winning teams in the mid-1950s.
After being contacted by Bryn’s daughter, Cathy Antony, the Bulls Foundation offered Bryn and his family tickets to tomorrow’s game.
Making the trip up from his home in Wales, Bryn will be able to reminisce with former team-mates Len Haley, Ralph Winnard, Alan Lancaster and Phil Crabtree, who all hope to be at the game.
